Common questions
Where can I get the app?
twekes is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone, free for every runner. The download link on twekes.com goes live as soon as the App Store listing is public. The Android app is coming soon to Google Play. You need to be 16 or older to create an account.
Which watches and apps can I connect?
Go to Profile → Privacy & settings → Connected devices.
- Apple Watch and Coros on iPhone, through Apple Health.
- Garmin, and some other watch brands, through ROOK, the service we use to sync them.
- Android phones and watches through Health Connect.
- Strava: new connections are paused for now. If you already connected Strava, it keeps working.
twekes reads your runs from these services; it never records GPS itself. You can disconnect any of them on the same screen.
Why does twekes ask for my location?
To show the runs, clubs, spots and races near you. twekes only uses your location while the app is open, and never shows your exact location to other runners. The app also works without it: you can explore an area manually.
Who can see my runs? What is Turf?
Turf colours the map with the hexagons your runs covered. Your Turf is personal: only you see it, and it never shows your routes, starts or finishes to anyone.
- Your runs count on the leaderboards only if you switch on “Show my runs on leaderboards” in Privacy & settings. It is off until you choose.
- When it is on, other runners see your name and your weekly distance and number of runs on the leaderboard, never your routes.
- Runs imported from Strava never count on the leaderboards.
What is Ask twekes?
Ask twekes is our AI search. It looks through clubs, runs, places, races and experts for you. The app asks for your agreement before you use it the first time, and the Privacy Policy explains what it sends to our AI provider. Answers can be wrong: check times and details before you go, and use Report answer if something is off.
I run a café, gym or recovery spot. How do I get listed?
Apply on the partner portal. We review every listing by hand. Joining twekes is free during our launch phase. No subscription is required, and offering runner perks is optional.
I run a club, or I'm a coach or specialist. How do I join?
In the app. If your club is already listed, open its page and tap Run this club? Claim this listing. Experts go to Profile → Are you a coach or specialist?, or tap Is this you? Claim this listing on a profile the twekes team listed. The team checks every claim. Club not listed yet, or no app yet? Email info@twekes.com.
